Thank you for your support
Thank you for your support

Hello from Cambodia!

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you again for your donations that support the work we do at M'Lop Tapang with disadvantaged children and their families. Your generosity is helping to ensure that the vulnerable children and youth we work with are receiving the services they need to be safe, healthy and on the path to a brighter future.

With your help, children like 11-year old Srey Pov* and her older sister, who used to spend their days on the streets collecting tin cans and bottles for recycling, are now back in school. You can read more about their story read: http://mloptapang.org/from-street-working-to-classroom-studies/

I also wanted to share with you a couple of very short videos in the links at the bottom of the page that I thought you might enjoy.

From everyone here at M'Lop Tapang, thank you again for your support and encouragement.

All the best,

Roth Chanphalkun (Kun)

Hello from everyone at M’Lop Tapang.

We wanted to say thank you again for the donations you’ve given to support the work we do at M’Lop Tapang. Your gifts are truly making a difference for hundreds of vulnerable Cambodian children, youth, and families here in Sihanoukville.

I know you can’t easily visit us here and see just how much your generosity is helping so I wanted to pass along a couple of short videos in the links at the bottom of this letter to give you a glimpse into some of what we do. The first is a look at what it takes to prepare lunch every day for children and youth in our education and training programs. The second video is of our Mobile Library program that reaches disadvantaged children in villages and neighborhoods around Sihanoukville.

Again, thank you very much for you support and if you do ever have any questions or comments please don’t hesitate to contact me at info@mloptapang.org

All the best,

With your help we continue to be able to provide assistance to thousand of vulnerable children and youth so that they can have a better future; children like 11 year old Chan Mao*, one of the newest children in classes at our Education Center who had to stop going to school before but is now back in a classroom trying to catch up with his studies so he can return to a local public school; and Kosal*, a young man from a very poor family who recently graduated from our vocational training program and now has a safe, steady job.

From all of us here at M’Lop Tapang, thank you again for your generosity and joining s to help vulnerable Cambodian children and youth in need.

Sincerely,

Eve Saosarin,

Hello from Cambodia. I wanted to thank you again for your generosity and donations.

With your help we are able to continue to provide education and training opportunities for thousands of disadvantaged children and youth in the local area. There are classes for children to catch up on their studies if they have never been to school, programs that support children to attend local public schools, and vocational training activities for older youth.

Because of you we have also been able to help children like six year old Champa* who cannot attend regular classes. Champa has Cerebral Palsy and lives with her mother and brother in a small house in a poor neighborhood in the city. Our Special Needs Team visits them weekly and works with the little girl and her mother and the time they spend together is paying off. Within the last year Champa has learned to use her hands more effectively and can now feed herself, and although still wobbly, she has started to walk.

In addition to visiting families in the community our Special Needs team works with a small group of children who attend a daily program at our Education Center. The program is for children and youth with autism, Down’s syndrome, suspected fetal alcohol syndrome or other undiagnosed learning difficulties. Because there is no other program like this in Sihanoukville, prior to joining the program most of these children were isolated at home with few opportunities to make friends. The Special Needs class provides them with structured learning activities and the chance to interact and have fun with other children.

From all of us here at M’Lop Tapang, thank you again for your support in joining us to make sure all children have access to the help they need.
