Thank you for helping Cambodian children
Thank you for helping Cambodian children

Hello from Cambodia.

I wanted to write to thank you again for your donations that are helping to disadvantaged children and youth a chance a better future.

“I want to learn how to write my name.”
Your generosity is helping children like 14 year old Sreyleak, one of the most recent students to join our education “Bridging Program” that helps children and youth who have never been to school (or have been out of school for a long time) catch up with their studies. Sreyleak has never attended public school when she was growing up. The family is very poor and wanted the young girl to earn money instead of going to school. Sreyleak spent most of her childhood working on the beach selling fireworks. She is now in a classroom at our Education Center learning to read and write – essential basic skills needed for a better future as she grows up. We wouldn’t be able to provide programs like this without your support. Thank you!

As always, if you have questions or comments please don’t hesitate to contact me at info@mloptapang.org and I’ll do my best to get back to you as soon as I can.

Sincerely,

Eve Sarosarin,
Director, M’Lop Tapang

Hello from Cambodia and the team at M’Lop Tapang!

I just wanted to say thank you again for your donations in supporting the work we do here in Sihanoukville, Cambodia.  With your help we continue to help vulnerable Cambodian children and youth work towards a better future.

Your donations are helping  children like 14 year Sok*, who left school in grade 3 to take care of his mother,  to return to school and continue his education; and young people like Sreypech* who left school  in grade 8, to learn job skills in our Vocational Training program and just recently found safe employment at as a seamstress.

We appreciate your support  very much. With your help we are able to work with thousands of disadvantaged Cambodian children and their families in the local area and together can offer them choices and options for building a better future.

Wishing you all the best from Cambodia,

Eve Saosarin

Getting an education to build a better future
Getting an education to build a better future

Can you believe it is November already? Sometimes I don’t know where the time goes! Before we end another year I just wanted to say thank you again for your support and encouragement to M’Lop Tapang. With your help we have been able to work with more children than ever before and assist them with what they need to build a foundation for a better future.

We think that one of the ways we can help children prepare for the future is by getting an education. Because of your help more than 2,000 Cambodian children and youth are now benefiting from M’Lop Tapang’s education activities. Many are being provided with the resources they need to stay in school, while others, like 8 year old Sinat* are entering classrooms for the very first time.

Sinat was born into a very poor family. They live in a slum area down by the ocean side port. Her father is a fisherman and her mother fixes fishing nets. It is a day to day struggle to get by and Sinat’s parents could not afford to send her to study.

Earlier this year Sinat joined hundreds of others in M’Lop Tapang’s “Bridging Program”, a non-formal education program that helps children who have never been to school catch up with their studies so that they can be reintegrated into local public schools with confidence. As part of the program Sinat and the other children receive transport to and from their homes to our Education Center, hot meals, health care, structured learning activities, as well as the chance to have fun and interact with other children.

From all of us here at M’Lop Tapang in Cambodia, thank you for joining us to help the children and their families.
