Dear friends,
Once again, we want to thank you so much for your donations supporting the work at M’Lop Tapang. Your support is helping to make a positive difference in the lives of the children and youth our teams work with here in Sihanoukville. M’Lop Tapang is continuing to provide services to thousands of vulnerable children and their families in the local area, and about half of those children are girls.
One of the newer girls we have started to work with is 10-year-old Sophea*. Until recently Sophea, who had never attended school before, used to often stay at home to look after her three younger siblings while her single-parent mother was out scavenging for recyclable trash items as a means to support the family. Now Sophea has started attending Grade 1 classes at our Education Center and her younger brother and sisters are in other daytime programs at M’Lop Tapang.
“Before I had to take care of my younger sister and brothers so much and it was boring to stay at home. Now I get to go to school and play with my new friends.”
