Hello!

Thank you for your ongoing support of Atlas Corps! Thanks to YOUR involvment, we have grown our community to more than 700 social change professionals from 94 countries - wow!

Our community includes Tanya (Russia, Host: Apex for Youth) who serves in New York. She recently shared her Fellow experiences during at panel at the U.S. Department of State on June 12. You can watch the video here and read some highlights below:

I currently serve with Apex for Youth, an Asian-American nonprofit organization in New York City, and run a high school mentoring program in Mandarin for recent immigrant youth in Queens. I am not only able to develop my leadership skills but also to increase the organization’s language capacity which allows for more inclusion and diversity in its operations. This program is particularly fulfilling for me because I can extend my own life experiences and global vision to the youth who are going through immense changes and challenges during the most transitional years of their lives. I aspire to make a difference by providing the youths with mentors who can help them develop unique talents and interests, and are able to support and relate to the students’ experiences.

The Atlas Corps annual theme this year is #DiversityandInclusion. It is extremely relevant to the work Fellows do in their respective organizations (like mine) and also to the way we interact with each other. The Fellow community is incredibly diverse and it never stops to amaze me how many truly global opportunities are out there just in our network. Most people think of the U.S. exchange programs as a way to explore the United States. To me, these programs provide a global vision on many issues and help discover the world far beyond the U.S borders. Today, I am trying to give back to the community and educate the next generation of global citizens, one mentee at a time.

Thank you for supporting Tanya and our diverse network of Fellows.
