Atlas Corps Asia and Europe

How are you doing? I have some exciting news to share with you—Atlas Corps is now an official Open Gov Hub (OGH) Member! This opportunity will allow us to continue to build upon our partnership with Open Gov Hub, who has also been an amazing Host Organization over the years and further connect with their Global Affiliate Hubs, including the three that are run by Atlas Corps Alumni: Albania, Liberia, and Tunisia. Also, if you have not already done so, we encourage you to update your records with our new address:

Atlas Corps
c/o Open Gov Hub
1100 13th Street NW, Suite 800
Washington, D.C. 20005-4281

We cannot thank you enough for motivating our Leaders from Asia and Europe and helping us continue to #BuildBridges with them. Because of you, we were able to connect Fellow Daliya (Class 41, India) to our Host Organization, SAP. Daliya extends her gratitude and reflects on how the Fellowship expanded her global network through collaboration:

“I feel honored to be a part of the global CSR team at SAP and just knowing that in a way my work contributes to that scale of impact. It no longer matters if the person on the receiving end knows it or not. It’s a combined effort and all of us from all across the world are changing lives.”

As a special thank you for your support in helping us make 2022 an unforgettable year, I invite you to join us on October 18 at 12pm ET for our Fall Celebration of Service! We will be featuring all of our Fellows, Scholars, and Alumni that have begun and/or completed their service in the last few months.

Here are a few recent highlights that are worth celebrating…

How is your start to 2022? While it has been unexpected in many ways, we are proud to announce that we welcomed Atlas Corps Class 44 in January AND we are preparing to launch Atlas Corps Virtual Leadership Institute Cohort 8 this month!

Thank you for the ongoing support! You continue to inspire Atlas Corps and our global community of 1,200 leaders from 112 countries! Yes, we continue to expand and welcome two new countries in 2022: Ivory Coast and Singapore!

In addition, 2022 is an extra exciting year for Atlas Corps. We are launching #AtlasCorps2025 - a strategy process to create our path forward. Below, I shared an update from our CEO Bidjan.

We look forward to getting YOU involved! We invite you to stay tuned for the latest updates on the Atlas Corps Blog. You can also follow #AtlasCorps2025.

Here are highlights from the blog post and video shared by our CEO Bidjan:

Three Reasons I Am Excited to Launch our #AtlasCorps2025 Strategy

Based on my first few months getting to know Atlas Corps, I want to share with you the three reasons why I’m excited and energized to kick off the #AtlasCorps2025 strategy process in February:

  1. There is a huge sense of urgency for us to do more for young people
  2. We have a unique window to create opportunities regardless of location and background
  3. We are bringing a great team of people and organizations together for this journey

Now is an opportunity for more equity in making skills and leadership potential, rather than location, the decisive factor in hiring young talent. And we are only scratching the surface of the iceberg of talent if the Atlas Corps Alumni and the thousands of annual applicants are any indicator.

Our great team will bring their experience from the first 15 years into this process. We will work with Jesse as a coach....We are also grateful to receive the pro-bono Board Fellow advice from the Boston Consulting Group‘s Steffyn and Rifaiyat....Our Atlas Corps Board members....And Adi, a MBA students at the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business...More partners are joining soon and we will challenge ourselves every single day to be curious and think about scaling opportunities for talented young people across the globe to lead.

We are Atlas Corps! You are appreciated.

Atlas Corps continues to grow even amidst these uncertain times. Today, we are a thriving global community of 1,100 professionals from 110 countries! In the past 12 months, we have engaged more Fellows, brought Fellows to the United States, and launched our Virtual Leadership Institute! We are especially inspired by our collaboration with the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta to engage Indonesian professionals in our virtual activities.

Elisabeth (Cohort 7, Indonesia, Virtual Scholar) shared this reflection, "Through Atlas Corps, I cultivated my leadership skills....Also, the networking activities, such as the Peer Coaching Group Calls and Coffee Chats, open the new possibility for future collaborations with like-minded Scholars with passions similar to mine. Moreover, for my personal accomplishments, I recently secured a scholarship because my interviewer was impressed with my experiences."

Now, we invite you to celebrate with our global community of Atlas Corps Leaders. We have two great upcoming events:

Atlas Corps Fall Celebration - Friday, October 15, 11:45 AM ET

We will recognize our Fellows and virtual Scholars, including the Indonesian Scholars, who are completing their leadership programs and will transition to our Alumni Community.

Atlas Corps 15th Anniversary Virtual Celebration - Thursday, November 18, 12:00 PM ET (virtual event to be posted)

Join us as our 15th Anniversary celebration continues! This event will feature special remarks by UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth, Jayathma Wickramanayake.

Thank you for believing in our community of global professionals! Thank you for inspiring social change, one global leader at a time.

PS Also, I invite you to get to know our new CEO Bidjan Nashat in his first newsletter. We are thrilled to add his leadership talents to our community!
