Dear Achvat Amim Supporters,
As I write this grant report, Achvat Amim Summer Solidarity participants are on a work day in the village of At-Tuwani, helping to restore the Mothers of Sumud Garden.
The village of At-Tawani (located in the Masafer Yatta region of the West Bank) is home to 1,000+ families living under Israeli military occupation. Many of our alumni have spent time there, running the Storytelling Project or meeting wit Awdah in Umm il-Kher..
For decades, this community has been using the tactics of non-violence to resist the occupation, forming a network of solidarity that has promoted and protected their livelihoods and ability to exist on their land.
The Mothers of Sumud Garden has undergone incredible transformation due to Achvat Amim's ongoing support. 200+ trees have been planted and three harvests of fruits, nuts, and vegetables have been collected. All of the food produced by the garden has been given back to the larger Masafer Yatta community for free.
We are proud of the exchanges taking place between our partners and our participants. When we look at the Mothers of Sumud Garden, we see the transformation and solidarity that our educational program makes possible!
Thank you for supporting this movement of self-determination for all people in the place they call home!
Dear Achvat Community,
The assaults on Palestinian communities by both settlers and the military in the West Bank continue to increase. Hundreds of thousands of Israelis have taken to the streets to prevent the government's attempts to destroy checks and balances. It's a moment of powerful activation in Israel-Palestine.
At Achvat Amim, we are asking: How do we sustain the momentum? How do we equip Jewish activists with the resources they need to enact change effectively?
We are currently preparing for a new summer program, trying on a new shape of solidarity. For 5 weeks, participants will dive into experiential education and anti-occupation action, embodying our values of Tikkun Adam and Tikkun Olam.
We continue to pour into our relationships, both with our Palestinian and Israeli partners as well as our participants. This is the heart of our organizing.
We need your financial and spiritual support in this work. Thank you for meeting this moment with us!
In gratitude and liberation,
Emet Ezell
Dear Achvat Amim Community,
The numbers are in from our End of Year Fundraising Campaign and,
from everyone at Achvat Amim, we are so grateful for the generosity of this community.
We originally set out to raise $54,000, and thanks to the generosity of
more than 50 donors, we raised over $27,200!
THANK YOU!
For our grass-roots organization, this is a big deal and
something to celebrate! And if you haven’t yet given to the End of Year
Campaign but would like to make a donation, you can contribute
here: Donate to Achvat Amim!
In the year ahead, we're planning to equip more Jewish leaders with the
tools they need to show up in solidarity, tend strategically to our Alumni
Network, and find new avenues for our educational programming.
All of this is possible thanks to our generous community of supporters
and Movement partners. We are grateful for each of you!
For Achvat Amim, our relationships keep us moving and accountable.
Thank you for being in it with us!
Together we are building a vibrant and educated Jewish body of solidarity,
one that is rooted in self-determination for all people
in the place they call home.
In wider and wider imagination,
Emet Ezell

Dear Achvat Amim Sustainers and Supporters,
One of Achvat’s greatest strengths is our ability to connect the Movement to the Movement. We know that building longstanding partnerships and investing in critical education is crucial to our work as organizers in Israel-Palestine, and are equally powerful across the Diaspora.
We're gearing up for a Fall Immersive, and our new participants arrive in just a few weeks! In preparation for their arrival, our staff has spent the summer facilitating workshops and reflecting on what it is that we do best.
Earlier this year, one of our participants practiced bridging Movement gaps through shared organizing. Each week, she brought diaspora Jewish activists to the Mothers of Sumud Garden, where they worked the land and cultivate relationships. She also collaborated with Izzeldin, a Palestinian chef in the Old City, to protect and promote Palestinian food, culture, and heritage. Understanding the objectives of her Palestinian partners, she brought the women of the Mothers of Sumud Garden and Chef Izzeldin together. Together, they organized a fundraising event in Al-Tuwani: a dinner in the Mothers of Sumud Garden. The meal, which will happen in a few weeks, will bring together Palestinians from the South Hebron Hills and Jerusalem, Jewish solidarity activists, and other Movement partners.
We cannot do anti-Occupation work in isolation— we do it together. As we prepare to bring new participants deep into this work, we're grateful for your partnership and support. You help us to educate and organize towards self-determination for all peoples in the place they call home.
In care,
Emet Ezell
As alumni-sustainers, we're grateful for your support!!
Thanks for the work you're doing to transform the world.
We know that this movment takes all of us.
In love,
emet
