Dear Achvat Amim Sustainers and Supporters,
One of Achvat’s greatest strengths is our ability to connect the Movement to the Movement. We know that building longstanding partnerships and investing in critical education is crucial to our work as organizers in Israel-Palestine, and are equally powerful across the Diaspora.
We're gearing up for a Fall Immersive, and our new participants arrive in just a few weeks! In preparation for their arrival, our staff has spent the summer facilitating workshops and reflecting on what it is that we do best.
Earlier this year, one of our participants practiced bridging Movement gaps through shared organizing. Each week, she brought diaspora Jewish activists to the Mothers of Sumud Garden, where they worked the land and cultivate relationships. She also collaborated with Izzeldin, a Palestinian chef in the Old City, to protect and promote Palestinian food, culture, and heritage. Understanding the objectives of her Palestinian partners, she brought the women of the Mothers of Sumud Garden and Chef Izzeldin together. Together, they organized a fundraising event in Al-Tuwani: a dinner in the Mothers of Sumud Garden. The meal, which will happen in a few weeks, will bring together Palestinians from the South Hebron Hills and Jerusalem, Jewish solidarity activists, and other Movement partners.
We cannot do anti-Occupation work in isolation— we do it together. As we prepare to bring new participants deep into this work, we're grateful for your partnership and support. You help us to educate and organize towards self-determination for all peoples in the place they call home.
In care,
Emet Ezell
