Living with disabilities is never easy
By LOIS HEALY | CEO/Project Leader
Every day disabled individuals have challenges in their lives that seem at times insermountable, and unless we live in their world we have no idea what those challenges are. The things we take for granted like walking, being able to move without a wheelchair or walker, use our hands and arms to name a few, are impossible for most disabled individuals.
This fund helps support them in their life to overcome those challenges with the necessary items that they need to be able to navigate their lives and live the most productive life that they can. This fund helps with:
- Transportation to and from Dr's Visits, grocery stores, and other appointments
- Replacing items such as Wheelchairs and walkers to name a few
- Building safe affordable housing that is accessible for them to age in place
So thank you for putting this fund top of mind to help these individuals navigate their world thru a different lens, you donations to this fund do make a difference! Our sincere thanks!

Low Donations this Quarter
By Lois Healy | Project Leader- CEO
We appreciate that people have many causes to give their donations to, however this quarter we received very few donations to help this cause. People with disabilities have special needs and make very little income per month, some less that $800 and in this struggling economy that amount is too little to even afforda a place to live. We have just experienced a hurricane in SW Florida that was the worst in SW Florida History, so most individuals with disabilities are now homeless and are struggling to survive. We helped many disabled clients this quarter with food, water, clothing and household supplies and we are working on building two more homes where they can afford to live, but we can't do that without your help of donations
We appreciate any and all donations and hope that you will continue to give to this great cause, understanding it only takes one catistrophic event to make someone disabled, a car accident, a fall, illness, etc. These individuals need help with everything so any donation is appreciated!

Housing Individuals with Disabilities is Challenging with Rising Prices
By Lois M Healy | CEO/Project Leader
Housing people that are disabled and are becoming homeless is challenging to say the least due to rising rent prices and prices to build and with so many people that are disabled and elderly becoming homeless with no where to go. We have just been awarded funds to build 5 more SRO houses which will house either 8 disabled couples per house or 4 individuals per house. That is the good news! Your support is needed to help with Case Management, items to furnish the houses with and simple things like food and clothing.
Most of the disabled individuals that have spent any time on the street in addition to health issues have severe mental health issues so when we house them it does not stop there, we connect them with counseling, transportation and in-home care. The funds you donate do make a difference!
