Tenants moving in
Building a home during COVID-19 has been a challenge, trying to make sure that the inspectors show up on time or show up and even getting permits approved has been difficult, but the day is here and the house is now completed. I just tried to upload a video of the completed project and it would not load so I uploaded a picture of the tenants that are so happy to be moving into their new home and are about start their lives living independently. The photo was taken at a lunch to get them all together to meet and discuss who they are, their favorite color and just have lunch. This was a great day, but tomorrow will be better as they get to see their new home for the first time. Thank you for making this a reality for these much deserving clients, this home will change their lives! Again thank you.

Trusses being placed
Building a home for individuals with disabilities has been difficult during a pandemic, permits are taking 4 months which in a "normal world' would take 15 days. So we have finally gotten some progress in the last 30 days we have the walls up and the roof being placed as we speak. We are making this a "Smart Home" and completely ADA Compliant which means everything will be wired so you don't have to use your hands to turn on lights, unlock doors etc. The cabinets will be lowered in the bathrooms and kitchens and the stove and oven will be ADA compliant as will the closet shelves and pantry.
We are building the home this way as two of the tenants are quadraplegics and another is blind. Thank you to all of you who support us in this most important work, we could not do it without you!

Another Home is Under Construction
By Lois Healy | CEO/Project Leader
We are building another Single Room Occupancy Dwelling for Individuals with Disabilities! The Construction started May 1st and will be finished by November and will house 4 individuals with disabilities.
Most of the people that we house with disabilities became homeless due to the fact the could not afford the rising rent prices in our area so we developed this model house which has 4 tiny houses in one. Each bedroom has it's own bedroom, bathroom and Kitchenette which has it's own refrigerator and microwave. Included the rent are all utilities except the Internet (that is extra due to the price) So the average rent is based on income and does not go over $345 a month per person making it affordable so they can live. So for example if a person only makes $771 per month their rent is only $231 per month including utilities! These homes come with a shared Washer Dryer and a full kitchen that can be used by any of the tenants and the full kitchen has Stove and cupboards that can store more food and dishes if the home wants to have pot luck dinners!
These homes are a blessing for all who are housed there thank you so much to all who have donated to this cause and all that will donate in the future!
