Advancing education and opportunity through Rugby

Welcome back to another update from Atlas. It's been a promising start to 2023 as we settle firmly into the year with progress and development of our reports. 

Our Atlas USA branch was delighted to share the success of the Memphis team at the Urban Rugby Champion ships (URC) in Washington DC. To understand how special the day was, out of 25 children going only 4 had ever been on an airplane before! There were many lifechanging experiences on the trip and they were so appreciative of the help we gave them. 

On the day itself, the children played with heart and spirit despite the weather, playing together and for each other. After the rugby itself, some students spoke in the RugbyLA Suite, but they did not speak of wins or losses, they spoke of excitment in the rain. They spoke of making new friends and they spoke of getting out of their comfort zone. Hearing this is what stuck out the children fills us with pride as we see our projects are more than just rugby, they are giving children experiences and the chance to develop that they deserve but haven't had. 

With more URC to come this year, we are excited to see how the children continue to develop and enjoy themselves.
