The Achon Uganda Children's Fund team continues to make great progress in serving the community of Otuke District in Northern Uganda. Since establishing our maternity ward last year, we have seen total patient counts--not just maternity services--steadily increase. We're now servicing well over 600 patients per month--a 30% increase from a year ago. And we're averaging almost two childbirths a day!
In addition, we've formed a partnership wth Love Mercy, another organization co-founded by Julius Achon, to support their Cents for Seeds program. We're helping Love Mercy access the community and sharing our resources to help spread their fantastic program. Cents for Seeds provides seeds to women in the region. After planting the seeds and growing crops, the women repay the seeds later in the year. This makes the program sustainable, and gives the women ownership in the program.
Thanks to your support, AUCF and Love Mercy are growing!
