Thanks to the generous support of you and many others, we were able to purchase an ambulance. It's the only one in the region, and is rugged enough to handle the tough roads of Otuke District in Northern Uganda.
The ambulance is used to transport emergency patients, and also take patients to local hospitals that provide services that Kristina Health Clinic does not provide...yet! Earlier this year, we expanded into maternity services. The ambulance has been used several times to transport expectant mothers. One baby was recently born just outside of the ambulance at the mother's home!
While patients pay a small fee for transportation, we rely on the support of others to cover most of the cost of fuel, maintenance and to pay our driver.
Thank you!
