Upcoming Medical Mission
By QUEEN OBASI | PRESIDENT
The time is getting closer for this medical mission in November. We are looking forward to another outreach in Amakohia, Umogolo and Avutu communities, all in Imo State Nigeria. The news on ground is that the economy of the country is not getting any better and lots people cannot afford to eat a meal a day and this also affects the health status of the rural dwellers. We are also faced with limited financial support to continue to run the program. The maintenance program is in progress and has yielded a good result in terms prevention of complications, delay in the progression of compilations and healing of foot ulcers due to diabetes. One of the things we are looking forward to, is the establishment of a functioning lab to help monitor those in the maintenance program. These individuals are always referred to have their labs done, due to the none existence of good lab and funding for it makes It difficult for them to comply with the instructions given to them. The laboratory unit is a needed component of our program for better management and outcome. We are looking for help to make this project happen. Thanks everyone that has donated, thinking about donating because we cannot do this without your help.

Monthly maintenance program
By QUEEN OBASI | PRESIDENT
The monthly maintenance program that follows the annual screening is going very well in the three communities; Umugolo village, Amakohia and Avutu village. The need for money for medications continues to be our biggest problem in supporting these people who could not afford the diabetics and hypertensive medications on their own due to poverty. There is a need for continuity throw the maintenance program for these individuals to be able to stay healthy and able to manage their conditions. The beneficiaries of this program remain appreciative for the care and help they are receiving in managing their health. We have started planning for the next outreach taking place in November, in the three large communities that covers a lot of other communities around them. We are going to have volunteers of all ages this year participating in our program.

ACHI 2017 Medical mission Report
By QUEEN OBASI | PRESIDENT
ACHI has concluded its 2017 medical outreach in the following communities- Avutu Obawo, Amakaohia village in Ihitte Uboma and Umugolo village in Ehime Mbano LGA, all in Imo state. The deplorable health continues in these rural areas continues to be a great concern. The lack of health care access to the poor in the country is getting worse as due to bad economy. The none payment of salaries, pensions to the retires and unemployment has worsened the health of the population. Medical care and availability is dependent on one’s ability to pay for the service before it is rendered, and this has sent a lot of individuals to their early grave. The ones with chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension cannot afford their medications or regular doctors visit for continuity of care. There is notable increase in the rate of hopelessness and helplessness on the faces of people. People were fighting to make sure they will be among the number that will get medical attention and medications during the program, because not everyone will be seen due to limited resources. Both Diabetes and Hypertension are on the rise and these individuals in the rural villages CANNOT AFFORD THE NEEDED MEDICATIONS. We are anticipating a great increase in the number of people that will show up for the monthly maintenance program. Nigerians living in the rural areas need help and we as an organization needs more help to continue this mission. We are thanking all of you for your continued help through the years to help in sustaining this program. Your help is needed more because the need is increasing, and more resources needed to sustain the people and the program. Thank you for your care and for your donations
