Annual Sreening
By QUEEN OBASI | PRESIDENT
ACHI have been planning for our annual health screening that is coming up in the month of November. We have been able to ship the needed medications and medical supplies for the mission with your continued support. We are looking forward to a busier outreach this year due to the economic condition in the country which includes non-payment of salaries to workers and pensions to the pensioners and unemployment. There are lots of out cries in the rural areas for help in securing medical cares and food.
Meanwhile the maintenance program is still in progress with good results. Due to the Boko Haram unrest in the northern part of the country that is displacing a lot of people from the east, we are seeing more people at the Resource center looking for assistance with medical supplies and medications. The numbers keep increasing every month and that is putting a lot of pressure on our financial status and our budget. The water project is still in progress and still need more work to be done to increase the distribution to more families around the community. And to secure the outlets that are already in use. We want to thank you for your continued support in sustaining this program that has really saved a lot of lives. Diabetes and Hypertension continues to be on the rise in Nigeria and more damaging to the individuals in the rural who left without any source of health care and needed supplies and information to manage their conditions.

Maintenance Program and Next Health screening coming up
By QUEEN OBASI | PRESIDENT
The water project at the Resource center is near completion. The water tanks have been mounted and the villagers are able to collect water from three different outlets. The outlets still need to be fully secured with concrete flooring and base to make the outlets more stable. The villagers both the young and the old were all out to provide the manual labor needed in laying the pipes. They were over joyed to see the water flow with ease and their ability to collect clean drinking water. The availability of clean water will help in reducing the incidences of intestinal worm infestation in both the children and adults in these community and reduce the cost of deworming the children. We are still in need of your kindness in completing and securing the outlets so that they will last longer.
The maintenance program at the three villages is still in progress and yielding go results. The individuals living with diabetes are making progress in areas of their blood glucose levels being controlled, reduction in progression of complications, healing of wounds, dietary and lifestyle adjustments. The number is on the rise for individuals living with diabetes and hypertension and this is putting a lot of pressure on the organization for sustainability. We are looking forward to your continued support and appreciate all that you do to help us in reaching these individuals who would have dead if not for the program

ACHI 2016 Medical mission Report
By QUEEN OBASI | PRESIDENT
The 2016 ACHI medical mission that was conducted in the month of November was very successful. Total 8 outreaches were conducted in 4 villages this year. We saw increase in the number of individuals living with diabetes and hypertension. The number rises every year due to the increase in the awareness of the program and the effectiveness of the medications used in the management of both diabetes and hypertension. The economic situation in Nigeria has led to most people that could afford their medications are no longer able to afford them due to none payment of salaries to the workers and the retirees. We are seeing people coming from the city to the rural areas to get help with their medications. We screened 2075 adults and dewormed 1116 children during the outreach. We turned many people away due to limited supplies and finances. We could do more if we have needed assistance. The effective of the program is being measured with the number of diabetics and hypertensives who are still coming to the problem every year without any complications or decrease in the onset of complication. The year round maintenance program continues and has proven to be very, the villagers are happy and praying for this to be continued because they have no other means of getting needed help in the management of their chronic diseases. We wish to thank You our donors for your continued support of this organization and for believing in the work that we do in the rural villages where there is no access to health care.
