The time is getting closer for this medical mission in November. We are looking forward to another outreach in Amakohia, Umogolo and Avutu communities, all in Imo State Nigeria. The news on ground is that the economy of the country is not getting any better and lots people cannot afford to eat a meal a day and this also affects the health status of the rural dwellers. We are also faced with limited financial support to continue to run the program. The maintenance program is in progress and has yielded a good result in terms prevention of complications, delay in the progression of compilations and healing of foot ulcers due to diabetes. One of the things we are looking forward to, is the establishment of a functioning lab to help monitor those in the maintenance program. These individuals are always referred to have their labs done, due to the none existence of good lab and funding for it makes It difficult for them to comply with the instructions given to them. The laboratory unit is a needed component of our program for better management and outcome. We are looking for help to make this project happen. Thanks everyone that has donated, thinking about donating because we cannot do this without your help.
