SAATH in collaboration with Danfe Works Enterprises Nepal, its sustainability partner launched access to menstrual hygiene and products last year after consulting with the project participants of SAATH.
After the consultation, one round of workshops and distribution was conducted in Janakpur among women and girls from Musahar communities of Dhanushadham.
After careful review and reflection, we will be continuing our efforts in supporting the decision-making and negotiation skills of women and adolescent girls through access to menstrual education and products. In doing so, Danfe Works will be a partner in the production of some of the identified menstrual hygiene products. We will not only be working in the project locations pre-determined, but also with the factory workers, manufacturers, and producers of Danfe along with the women and girls from rural and semi-urban communities across Nepal.
To initiate this process, we will primarily be leading a workshop to help women and girls understand the basics of menstruation and then provide access to menstrual hygiene products. At this stage, we have a group of women that we will be engaging with in June. Additionally, in support of Danfe we will also be producing some menstrual hygiene products for the women who receive our workshop.
We are grateful to you as your support helped us pilot this initiation. In case you want to help us reach out to additional communities and hundreds of other women and girls, continue supporting us and spread the word in your circle of family and friends.
Thanking you for your support to SAATH.
