As a part of our continued work in the social development of women and adolescent girls from rural and semi-urban backgrounds, we have been conducting facilitated sessions and workshops on Menstrual Health and Hygiene under the SRHR initiative of SAATH. The workshop focuses on areas of:
1. Education and Awareness, and
2. Access
So far we have conducted 4 rounds of training in different locations of Nepal. We started the engagement in Janakpur and today over 50 menstrual hygiene kits have been distributed. The menstrual hygiene kit is distributed in an effort to make the menstrual cycle easy and the services accessible for women and girls.
We recently conducted a workshop on Menstrual Hygiene and Management for the female production team of our sustainability partner, Danfe Works. The workshop focused on knowledge and understanding of the menstrual cycle and process, hormones, menstrual hygiene and menstrual hygiene products. The participants each received a menstrual hygiene kit at the end of the workshop. The participants' curiosity greatly inspires us to keep advancing our work in SRHR, and we are committed to expanding our reach to hundreds, even thousands, in the days ahead.
