Dear Supporter,

Thank you for supporting this project. Below is the story of Larysa and how donations are helping young women like her.

Her parents had 6 children. She was the fifth, after her another sister was born who is now in year 5. At the age of 9, due to alcoholism of her older sister and parents, her younger sister and herself were taken to an orphanage , where she became very ill and was sent to the hospital, she stayed there for a long time. She remembers receiving lots of injections while at the hospital, and they were very painful and was scared because she was alone.

When she was 10 years old, Larysa and her sister ended up in an orphanage in Chinadievo. At the age of 11 they moved to a foster home. The girls had many relatives, but they didn’t want to care for the girls and in fact they couldn't, as they all drink.

Her dream is to join the army. She is training hard and wishes to go after she finishes Lyceum. She wants to either join the army or the police, so she can protect children from alcoholism and saves them. For now, she is training to become a cook. She is participating in the Technical School Independent Living Programme. This programme is fully funded by ChildAid.

Teenage orphans live in a safe and secure separated dormitory within the local state Technical Schools. Our 3 social workers have a rota to live with the young people offering them educational, emotional and spiritual support. These teenagers enter a 2-3 year life-changing programme

As Larysa says: ''I like it here, it is calm, we have lovely kitchen and such a large refrigerator that I have never seen such big ones!!! Everyone has their own place in the refrigerator and in the kitchen, I have my own shelf, and the kitchen is as beautiful as in the magazine! I wish my sister could come here and live in our block!''

Thanks to your kind donation, young orphans like Larysa have the support they need to achieve their dreams.

Thank you
