By donating to this project you will be helping to bring reliable, fast internet access to the Amun Shea School in Perquin, El Salvador. This breakthrough will ensure that the children here have access to the wealth of knowledge and unparalleled connectivity to the outside world that the internet offers. With the chronic lack of textbooks we have at the school, internet access is sometimes the only source of learning that we have access to; you can make this happen. You can help these kids.
You know how maddening it is to continually lose internet access or, God forbid, not have access at all. This internet isn't for Netflix and Facebook, though; it is, for our children, a fundamental tool in their education. This is reality at Amun Shea: a group of bright, driven kids, waiting and wanting to unleash their curiosity and potential on the world but inhibited by a lack of access to something that has become a basic part of the modern classroom: something you can give them.
Only you can help us put the tools of learning in the hands of the kids. The internet helps them develop self-reliance and real world skills, such as research abilities and relevant communication techniques. They are also supplied with a a veritable portal to the outside world; the closest grocery is almost an hour away and your help will connect the kids, placing their learning and themselves in the context of the rest of the world and making their education so much more powerful and potent.
Integrating greater access to the internet into our classrooms provides the children with a new outlet for creativity, self-development, and critical thinking all crucial life skills. We suspect you share our belief that developing these abilities, which will create future leaders and entrepreneurs, is pivotal in lifting the Morazan region, and ultimately El Salvador, out of the vicious cycle of poverty and violence in which it has been trapped for so very long.
