After a bit of a wait to receive our funding from GlobalGiving and a much longer wait for our equipment to arrive, we can finally bring you a preliminary report on the results of your generous funding of our microproject.
Simply put, the changes are fantastic; the difference in connectivity and availability of resources for the students is night and day. We’re still working on expanding the Wi-Fi network to cover the entire school, but even the incomplete coverage has brought some big changes. We’ve been able to greatly increase the amount of technology-based education and have even implemented a digital classroom focused around the study and use of computer science.
Thanks to you, every class has been able to increase the amount of research work that they are doing due to the consistent availability of the internet and because of this, productivity in the classrooms has shot up. We have also begun installing smart TVs in a few select areas throughout the school, but it is too soon to judge their efficacy.
In the next report update, we will be able to bring you news about complete coverage for the school and the adaptation of the smart TVs into daily classroom life. We just have to wait for a few more routers to make their way through customs.
Thank you for your continued support and patience.
