2 more children treated inside the incubator

By Veronika Cejpkova | Founder and Director Whisper

We wanted to report on another two angels who were helped by the incubator, both were suffering from neonatal sepsis followed by hypothermia

Hypothermia is the condition of having an abnormally low body temperature, typically one that is dangerously low caused by Neonatal Sepsis.

Neonatal Sepsis invasive infection, usually bacterial, occurring during the neonatal period. Signs are multiple, nonspecific, and include diminished spontaneous activity, less vigorous sucking, apnea, bradycardia, temperature instability, respiratory distress, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal distention, jitteriness, seizures, and jaundice.

Neonatal sepsis occurs in:

  • low birth weight infants
  • infants with depressend function at birth as manifested by a low apgar score
  • infants with maternal perinatal risks factors (low socio eonomic status, premture rupture of membranes)
  • Minorities
  • Males

Our two babies have recovered very fast, being put on a very high quality antibiotics and oxygen.

The mothers only paid £10 in total ($12, or 310 Czech Crown)

We are really grateful for this wonderful machine that is helping our patients heal faster and thank you for the continuous support to Whisper.

Both babies will be discharged home today.
