Goal in Three Parts
Sao Paulo is a thriving metropolis but inequality means that many struggle to break the cycle of poverty, especially young women. Goal for Equality seeks to empower marginalised young women in Vila Albertina, a favela located in the north of Sao Paulo, by training female coaches to deliver mixed football leagues and education on gender issues to other children and young people in the community. Already supported by Cityzens Giving, your donation will help even more young people in Sao Paulo.
Enable brazilian dreaming kids learn ballet!
Our Institute offers many activities for kids from 7-17 years old in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil. One of our projects is the "Usina da Danca", in which we have ballet lessons for boys and girls. If any of them stands out above the rest, we do our best to offer professional opportunities. Even if that does not happen, physical activities (such as ballet) give the kids an extra option to think about when deciding what to do for a living and also help them in regards to health.
Life skills + Soccer for 350 boys in Brazil
This project will provide essential life skills to 350 8 to 14 year old boys through futsal classes and workshops providing them with a positive pathway away from drugs and involvement in criminality. We shall occupy public hard courts in the community providing structured classes for children who only get 5 hours of schooling per day - either in the morning, in the afternoon or at night.
Empower kids and families in Rio to battle Covid
Empower Sebastian and Miratus to get badminton players in the favelas back to tournaments! This project already generated food for 500 families during Covid-19, delivered by Sebastian & his young athletes. Along with food, Miratus handed out 1000 children's books about Sebastian to nourish children's dreams, fight discrimination, & provide wholesome activities to kids. The crucial key for the future is to get these incredible athletes off of the streets and back to badminton tournaments.
Girls soccer in Brazil, changing gender norms
Our goal is to break gender norms in sports. In what has historically been a male-dominated sport, soccer - we will provide twice-weekly indoor soccer classes for 240 female students across 6 elementary schools in Diadema, Brazil. In addition, we will utilize safe spaces in schools to provide these young girls with educational workshops centered around women's health & hygiene, gender equality and empowerment.
