The Esporte Mais Institue, a women-led civil society organization established in 2014, aims to promote a fairer world through sports. Our mission involves providing sports opportunities to children and women, leveraging sports as a tool for social transformation, and fostering life skills and socio-emotional development. We operate across three key areas, benefiting over 1,500 children, adolescents, and youth annually.
According to the coordinator of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) office in Brazil, in areas where there are sports support programs for children and adolescents, there is an annual decrease of 30% in crime rates. Another study conducted by Banco BV in partnership with Mind&Miners showed that 88% of the interviewed Brazilians believe that sports is a tool for social transformation.
Annually, we serve approximately 1,500 individuals, with around 350 engaged in regular activities each month. Funding primarily comes from sports incentive laws, however, administrative challenges persist, requiring resources for documentation, infrastructure, and compliance. Donations, including those from Flutter through Global Giving, would support these administrative needs, ensuring sustainability and enabling us to access additional funding opportunities.
This donation would benefit all our beneficiaries, including over 6,000 families impacted annually. It would strengthen our administrative capacity, allowing us to continue offering quality projects and ensuring compliance with regulations. We commit to transparently accounting for all expenses and leveraging this resource to address institutional needs not covered by existing laws. This would secure our sustainability and enable us to continue providing impactful.
