Sport has the power to change the world. This phrase by Nelson Mandela indicates the power of transformation of sport. In our institution, sport is a tool for education. In this way, we use sports, education and culture as instruments for the integral formation of children and adolescents in situations of socioeconomic vulnerability. The goal is to promote social leadership and develop different SDGs in order to impact the community in which they live.
The arrival of the pandemic deepened many social problems that already existed in the community. Among them, the gap in education (since public schools face challenges in learning), hybrid teaching (online and face-to-face, since students living in the community don't have access to the internet and technological devices) and emotional education (since the impact of the pandemic has been profound on managing emotions).
Considering the problems presented, the project will promote an innovative teaching methodology, which connects sport, education and culture in order to assist students in a integral way, developing skills and abilities for social protagonism. The goal is more than educating or entertaining (through sport): it's to promote the improvement of life in the physical, intellectual, emotional, social and cultural areas. In this way, the project takes care of students globally.
As a long-term impact, we highlight the global service carried out with students, assisting their families and the communities where they live, since students are disseminators of the content taught in the classroom. Furthermore, considering the time students spend at the Institute (entering at age six and graduating at age 17), we impact their lives by empowering them for adulthood. In this way, we will serve 340 children and adolescents, impacting even more families and society.
