Provide earthquake relief in Sindalpulchowk, Nepal

The earthquake in Nepal on the 25th April, 2015 has shattered the lives of millions of people destroying homes, fields and livelihoods. Our staff have also suffered but they are relatively lucky. The district of Sindalpulchowk, to the north of Kathmandu, has suffered more than most areas. Statistically there have been more deaths than anywhere else, whole villages have disappeared, yet it is still not receiving much government support. The Nepal Trust will concentrate in this area. project reportread updates from the field
Healthcare & Opportunity in the Hidden Himalayas

This project provides basic health care and health education in the least developed area of Nepal. There are no roads or infrastructures in Humla and the government health system is disfunctional. Maternal and child mortality rates are some of the highest in the world (<30%). More than 45000 people live in the district. The project is integrated with renewable energy and income generation projects to promote a healthier lifestyle and a secure future for, particularly, women and children. project reportread updates from the field
Keeping the lights on in the Hidden Himalayas

This project will provide support, repair and maintenance services through a dedicated Service Centre for the renewable energy schemes built by the Nepal Trust and other agencies. NW Nepal is very remote and support facilities non-existent so when systems break down or require servicing local communities have no easy access to specialised services. The Service Centre will create a platform, by maintaining energy systems, to sustain local infrastructure. project reportread updates from the field
