Mission

Founded in 1979, Alif Laila Book Bus Society is one of Pakistan's pioneering literacy organizations. For nearly 50 years, we have worked to ensure that every child, regardless of geography or circumstance, has access to books, quality education and the opportunity to develop a lifelong love of reading. What began with Pakistan's first mobile Book Bus has grown into a nationwide movement of camel, boat, rickshaw and community libraries, bringing books and learning to children in remote villages, underserved communities and areas affected by disaster.
