Pakistan has seen the worst flood in country's history killing over 1,136 causing catastrophic destruction because of heavier than usual monsoon rains and melting glaciers. Millions have been displaced, losing their life stock, land, crops, and homes. It has been categorized as the world's deadliest floods since 2017 South Asian floods leaving the people and children in dire need of humanitarian and medical support.
The catastrophic floods affecting 60% of the country has left over 1000 dead and 2000 injured where Sindh and Baluchistan are affected the most. With 325,000 houses destroyed, 735,000 livestock lost, 2 million acres of crop affected and 33 million Pakistani's suffering; this disaster has been termed has the worst in the country's history. Pakistan's Prime Minister has estimated $10 billion would be required to provide relief, rebuild damaged infrastructure and rehabilitate the affected.
All of the donations will be utilized to provide immediate relief to the survivors in the form of dry food items, water proof tents to provide shelter, medicines to address common ailments and viruses, clean drinking water, hygiene products to prevent further diseases. We also plan to distribute building blocks toys, story books and colouring books to address the colossal, psychological trauma and stress faced by our children with the purpose to engage them in therapy through play.
The relief and rehabilitation requires continuous and constant effort, keeping in mind winter will arrive soon. We have already started our work on ground but require more financial support to continue working. Eventually this project will meet our long term plan to not just rescue and relief but also rehabilitate the affected families where we already have our team working on ground i.e. Bahrain (Swat), Jaffarabad and Kohlu (Baluchistan), Khairpur and Hingoro (Sindh).
