All Hands Volunteers, Inc.

Mission: To address the immediate and long-term needs of communities impacted by natural disasters by engaging and leveraging volunteers, partner organizations, and local communities. Our Vision is to demonstrate the power and value of volunteerism through the tangible work done, the hope it brings to suffering communities, and the transformative experiences it provides for volunteers.
Ecuador Earthquake Rapid Response

All Hands has launched a project in response to the devastating magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Ecuador on April 16th. Our team of professionals is on the ground coordinating with national and international agencies in the humanitarian response. We are connecting suffering communities with people who want to help. We are seeing a need for debris management, distribution networks, and construction of shelters for families and safe spaces for children. project reportread updates from the field
Help Rural Nepal Villages Rebuild and Recover

This program is a multi-faceted approach to helping earthquake survivors effectively and sustainably rebuild their communities. A key aspect of our work is to involve beneficiaries in their own self recovery by listening to their priorities and providing training in build-back-better principles. Current initiatives: complex demolition and rubble removal to free up scarce build-able land; building earthquake resilient homes and schools; and providing permanent, private toilets for families. project reportread updates from the field
Safe Spaces for Children Impacted by Peru Floods

Flooding has been plaguing Peru since December causing massive destruction. We have officially launched a response program to focus on cleaning out affected schools, constructing temporary learning centers, mobilizing local volunteers, and mucking out homes. Over 1,000 children have been displaced from their learning spaces and our volunteers will work to clean out those schools and construct temporary learning centers so children can gain back some normalcy.
Haiti Hurricane Response

All Hands is on the ground in Haiti and is basing relief operations out of Port Salut, on the southwestern coast. We are coordinating with local officials to prioritize needs. Our first activities center on clearing debris from a school that was destroyed. From there, we anticipate branching out to less accessible towns to the north toward Jeremie. Work will include the clearing of debris, creating temporary classrooms along with the installation of a school clean water system. project reportread updates from the field
Fiji Cyclone Disaster Response

For over five months All Hands Volunteers has been working hard to provide immediate assistance to communities in Fiji affected by category 5 Cyclone Winston. To date we have been able to provide household emergency hygiene and sanitation solutions in over 18 different villages. This intervention is crucial in order to prevent the spread of life-threatening disease, but with 28,000 homes damaged or destroyed, the needs are still great. project reportread updates from the field
Resilient Homes for Nepal Earthquake Survivors

This project seeks to provide secure, dignified, earthquake resilient transitional homes for people displaced by the Nepal earthquakes who lost their homes during the 7.8 magnitude earthquake on April 25, 2015. The project also incorporates self-recovery and disaster preparedness objectives by educating affected communities in shelter safety issues and training local workers in build back safer methods. project reportread updates from the field
Help 500 families in Malawi Feed Themselves

Malawi is in the midst of a famine. According to IRIN, this is Malawi's biggest food crisis in a decade. This calamity comes a year after devastating floods wiped out crops and irrigation systems in southern Malawi Although last fall All Hands partnered with the Muona Foundation in Nsanje District to build 48 irrigation wells for subsistence farming communities, there is a serious shortage of seeds to grow enough food for the communities. project reportread updates from the field
