Two deadly earthquakes have struck northern Venezuela, with 50,000+ missing (feared trapped) or displaced. Families are sheltering outdoors due to damaged homes and ongoing aftershocks. AH&H has launched emergency operations, providing safe water and essential supplies. Building on these initial efforts, this project will deliver immediate aid, including, but not limited to shelter, food, water, hygiene kits, and other critical relief, while supporting early recovery and community resilience.
The earthquakes caused widespread destruction across northern Venezuela, destroying critical infrastructure. Tens of thousands are displaced and sleeping outdoors due to damaged homes and ongoing aftershocks. Power outages, blocked roads, and damage to the main airport are disrupting relief efforts. Communities face shortages of safe water, food, and shelter, while overwhelmed health services and prolonged displacement leave children, the elderly, and other vulnerable groups at heightened risk.
Within hours of the earthquakes, AH&H deployed to Venezuela and began coordinating with local partners to deliver lifesaving assistance. Initial response efforts are providing safe water and emergency supplies to affected communities. Building on these efforts, AH&H will continue delivering flexible, needs-based humanitarian aid while adapting its response to evolving conditions and supporting early recovery and community resilience.
Beyond meeting immediate lifesaving needs, this project will help lay the foundation for longer-term recovery in earthquake-affected communities. By providing timely access to essential relief items and safe shelter, AH&H will help families stabilize, reduce vulnerability, and begin the recovery process. Your support will not only address urgent humanitarian needs but also strengthen communities' ability to recover and adapt in the months ahead.
