Devastating flash floods have swept through communities across northern Nepal, destroying homes, roads, bridges and critical infrastructure. All Hands & Hearts has mobilized an in-country response team and is working with local authorities and responders to identify urgent needs, deliver emergency supplies and reach communities receiving limited assistance. As access improves, we will continue adapting and expanding our response based on what communities need most.
Flash floods struck northern Nepal with little warning, sweeping through communities and leaving widespread destruction. Hundreds of people have died and many more remain missing, while damaged roads and bridges have left some communities difficult to reach. Families have lost homes, belongings and access to essential services, and the full scale of the disaster is still emerging as search and rescue operations continue.
All Hands & Hearts is already responding. Our teams are working with local authorities, the Nepal Army and community stakeholders to assess conditions and identify priority needs. Supplies are being procured in Kathmandu against requests from affected areas, including shelter materials, bedding, food, sanitary supplies, lighting and rescue equipment. As access improves, we will identify underserved communities and expand assistance where it is needed most.
Emergency relief is the first step in a much longer recovery. By listening to communities and responding to the needs they identify now, AH&H can help families regain a measure of safety and stability while laying the groundwork for what comes next. As access improves and needs become clearer, we will continue working alongside affected communities and local partners, adapting our support as families move from immediate crisis toward recovery.
