Hello from Minnesota!
I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the vibrant energy of spring! I'm excited to share some wonderful updates about our Youth Outreach Project at Zenon Dance School, made possible by your incredible support.
Our Spring Session is in full swing! We’re hosting classes at both Zenon and partnering with local parks and recreation centers. This year, we’re focused on fostering strong community connections, empowering our youth, and tackling challenges with enthusiasm. Together, we are paving the way for a future rich with opportunities.
Reflecting on our Winter Session, we provided ten weeks of exceptional dance programming for youth in the greater Minneapolis area right at Zenon's studios. We expanded our Creative Movement classes for our youngest dancers, ages 3-4, welcoming new families and beginners into our community. The session concluded with a heartwarming celebration, where young dancers showcased their progress in a supportive environment filled with family and friends.
We are now in our Spring Session and excited to offer a variety of classes—Creative Movement, Ballet, Modern, and Hip Hop—catering to dancers aged 3-14. The culmination of this session will be a Spring Showcase held at the TEK Box in the Hennepin Center for the Arts. This is an invaluable opportunity for students to translate their skills from the classroom to the stage, complete with lighting, sound, and a live audience.
As we embrace spring, we're already gearing up for the bustling summer and fall ahead, alongside our community partners with initiatives like Camp Zenon and our Summer Session. This summer, we will host two one-week camps for children aged 4-10, as well as a full slate of weekly classes. We're also actively forming new partnerships with community organizations and look forward to sharing more details in our August newsletter.
We’re thrilled to announce that Zenon has been awarded a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board for Arts Education! This grant will support our dance education efforts in four local public schools in the upcoming year. We’re hard at work assembling a talented team of dance educators and developing a comprehensive K-12 curriculum.
Your generous support has brought tremendous joy to our students this winter, giving them the gift of dance and creating lasting memories. We are incredibly grateful for your ongoing commitment and partnership in our mission to uplift young dancers across Minnesota. Together, we are making a lasting impact, one dance step at a time.
With warmest regards,
Danielle
