Zenon Dance School's Youth Outreach Project will provide over 100 youth dancers, ages 3-18 with access to high-quality youth dance classes for one-year at Zenon's Minneapolis, Minnesota dance studios, and at off-site partnerships with local public schools and arts organizations. Access to dance for young dancers is more important than ever, enabling young people to communicate across economic, racial and gender lines - building respect and understanding in a our challenging world.
Over 85% of our youngest dancers in Minneapolis, Minnesota, 18 years old and younger are unable to afford dance class tuition. These dancers need a safe space that will empower them to succeed, to persevere, be brave, and understand empathy as they discover new and unimaginable ways to see themselves and others. This project will transform over 100 youth dancers in Minneapolis, Minnesota - one step at a time.
Youth Outreach Project will support Minneapolis, Minnesota Kindergarten through 12th grade dancers with high-quality free dance classes, dance workshops and through off-site partnerships with local public schools and arts organizations. Welcoming dancers of all abilities to dance, to build community, to explore and to express their creativity.
This project will support over 100 youth dancers through the transformative power of dance. Programming will provide a space for children to be more active, socialize and develop creative and physical skills; support a mental health balance by reducing stress levels, and building a social network; a welcoming community that builds strength in sensitivity, understanding, appreciation, and consideration for others, both for their similarities and differences; and empathy.
