Following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck southern Turkey and Syria on February 6, 2023, Airborne Rescue & Relief Operations With Search (ARROWS) dispatched a search and rescue team to Turkey. As a member of the joint rescue team ARROWS, Civic Force supported activities including search and rescue for survivors and relief item distribution. GEA, a local partner in Turkey, requested that ARROWS come to assist with the emergency response.
In addition to search and rescue, ARROWS supported relief item distribution including the following:
Blankets (18,113)
Heaters (3,654)
Tents (200)
Personal hygiene kits (12,176)
Underwear (28,950)
Winter clothing (800)
Snacks (25,000)
Charger (3,000)
Radio/batteries (600)
Flashlights (1,500)
Generators (70)
Children’s items – diapers, food, bottles, toys, coloring books, crayons
