This project will support our emergency response activities including the distribution of relief supplies.
On 28 July 2026, a devastating Magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck Kumamoto Prefecture causing widespread damage and forcing thousands of displaced residents to take shelter in evacuation centers. Extreme heat with widespread water outage sharply raises heatstroke risk in shelters and vehicles. Telecommunications congestion and road damage continue to hinder coordination and logistics. Damage assessments remain ongoing and the full extent of humanitarian needs is not yet known.
Civic Force is transporting emergency supplies including heatstroke prevention kits, underwear sets, portable power supplies, emergency toilets, Starlink equipment, and spot coolers from our Saga warehouse. As needs assessments continue, we will procure additional supplies to meet the evolving needs on the ground in the many evacuation centers.
This project will provide immediate disaster relief to the most hard-hit areas in Kumamoto.
