A safe space for women's leaders to share and learn is very important especially under tension situation in HK in the past few months. 34 women leaders in 13 organizations participated 5 sessions of transformative feminist leadership training to learn about mindfulness, reflection the usage of power, non-violence communication, etc. to raise the awareness of their understanding of leadership style can be a different one than the past to take care of themselves and the group.
These leaders mentioned that they have time to reflect and caring of themselves, slow down to listen to themselves, and learn not to judge the other's views.
Some of them will go to a deeper learning after summer while the rest will also continue to practise what they learnt. For example, during the summer break, we invited a yoga teacher to give them pro-bono yoga and mindfulness practise session.
Your continuous support is very important for them to keep the practise and training going on.
Thank you very much for your support! Because of your and other donors' support, we're moving forward!
We finished the presentation skill training to a group of migrant domestic workers, and also fundraising and communication for 4 local women and girls organizations. We are happy to kickstart 2 new trainings: presentation skill training and transformative feminist leadership. Women leaders need skill building to strengthen their organizational capacity but they also need to take care of their well-being and reflect their leadership style to make organization more sustainable and give them more power to make social change.
However, your support would give women leaders more strength and have chance to get resources to implement their learning. Please spread the news to your friends!
In the past one year, with your and other donors support, 32 women leaders completed project management, fundraising and communication, and presentation skill training. These 32 women leaders including migrant domestic workers, grassroots women, lesbians, and young women. They all felt empowered and increased their self-confident to be a leader. Without your support, it could not be happened!
Challenge is coming. One of our institutional funder stopped giving us grants to keep this project continue (because of their priority has been changed). We need greater financial support to keep the good work going on. Please donate to us and spread the word! Thank you very much!
Last Saturday, our grantee partners Virtuous Lady Club (grassroots women advocating women's health rights), Teen's Key (young girls' rights), PrideLab (LGBT) and Tin Zi Zok Wai (grassroots women in poverty) with trainers and mentors grouped together at PwC office to share their project experiences on resource development and communication. We also got feedback from everyone on the whole HER Hub for future improvement.
"I knew other groups here and we start collaborate because of this training," organizer of PrideLab. "I learnt so much and I am more confidence to speak after learning here!" core member of Tin Zi Zok Wai.
In the past 6 months, they all worked so hard to learn. Then they tried hard to use the skills to implement a fundraising or membership building project. Skills development and leadership development isn't a magic. It takes time to learn and grow. Hence, we need the support from the society to keep the work of HER Hub. If you also want women's leaders has the opportunity to learn and practice, please donate now to support.
Thank you for your support! Without your donation, she can't raise the leadership skill to improve the work for the women's movement!
HER Hub's resource development and communication workshop have been successfully completed in July. Thank Kris, our trainer, who provided us with four rich and interesting session of the workshop. Thank all our mentors, who joined us and shared your knowledge and experiences. After the workshop, our grantee partners including a sexual minorities group, a young women-led organization, and 2 grassroots women-led groups are going to start their pilot project to implement their learning.
