The crises Cameroon is faced with affect both girls, boys, women and men differently. Being a young boy, an adolescent, a man in the prime of life or an elderly woman greatly determines the role that each one plays within the family and the community, but also their experience, their capacities and their priorities in this regard, to whom humanitarian assistance and protection services should be provided.
Discrimination between girls and boys, women and men remain a major obstacle to human development in Cameroon. The country ranks 141st among 189 countries ranked in terms of their level of gender inequality (UNDP, Gender inequality index, 2017) . The Inequality Index reveals significant disparities in the three key dimensions of human development: reproductive health, education and access to employment.
For the implementation of this project, with the collaboration of the social services of the Maroua City Council, EFA Cameroon will proceed to: - Sensitize local and administrative authorities. - The targeting of the beneficiaries and / or groups of beneficiaries in 100 villages of the Far north Region. In each village 10 groups of 10 vulnerable and volunteer women will be identified and enrolled in the project. Within each group, sub-groups will be formed. (Binomial, for co-responsibility).
The major impact of the project in the communities is the reduction in the existing gender gap and the empowerment of women to become financially stable thereby countering discrimination all forms of violence against women in communities of Diamare division, the Far North in particular and Cameroon in general. The more women are financially stabled; the more children are likely to be educated.
