It's official--Angel Projects has expanded to a third location in Uganda! In December, Angel Projects Uganda began its latest farming project with the women of Nombe. The new farm was officially dedicated and blessed by the local church leadership. Irish potatoes are the crop that the women have chosen to plant, and the harvest will help them take care of their families and be able to send their children to school.
In August 2019, The Angel Projects met with these women, who have formed a cooperative called the Nombe Poverty Eradication Group, to discuss the creation of a sustainable farm. The women already owned enough land to contain a farm; they just needed a hand up in getting started. They needed farming tools and seeds, and The Angel Projects was able to help. The women prepared their fields, and Gard, one of our project managers, brought everything they needed to the village to start farming!
Angel Projects Uganda now has self-sustaining farms up and running in three different local villages as well as successful livestock projects in two of the locations. The children in all three villages, including local orphans, are able to attend school because of the income these projects provide for their families. It's amazing to see how some seeds and a handful of baby animals can change so many lives and encourage hope in the future because of new educational opportunities for the next generation.
We are incredibly grateful to our donors for making these amazing changes a reality. Your generosity brings joy, pride, and hope to people who never thought such success would be possible.
