Lunching of UWEZO's research work of 2018
Lunching of UWEZO's research work of 2018

After two years of formally registration of Kole Intellectual Forum with Kole District Local Government (from 2016 -2017); it had not been so easy for the promoters of the organization to increase the visibility of the organization at both local, national and international level; however, in 2018, that is when the organization started to engage into partners with a number of organizations leading to its visibility to both national and international level.

Firstly with GlobalGiving: when in March 2018, the organization went through the GlobalGiving Accelerator; and because of its commitment with GlobalGiving, the organization (Kole Intellectual Forum) today, has been awarded with four badges: Vetted, effective, top ranked, and site visit.  Although, the ranking fluctuates depending on how committed the organizations’ officials are engaging the organization to GlobalGiving principles; it is not surprising that today 3rd Dec, 2019, the organization is ranked No. 3 of all the projects of more than 5000 projects that GlobalGiving has on its website; the link is: http://goto.gg/31562

Secondly, within the same month and year – 2018; Twaweza East Africa was able to identify Kole Intellectual Forum among all the Nonprofit Organizations within Kole District and entered into agreement with it, as the Kole District partner’s organization. Twaweza East Africa assigned the organization the task of running up their program in the name of UWEZO (Research work); the task was successfully completed by Kole Intellectual Forum and other 31 organizations in different districts in Uganda. The photos above and below are those of the invited guests and District coordinators at Hotel Africanan, Kampala, Uganda, on the 19th Nov 2019; launching the research work that had been successfully completed of which Kole Intellectual Forum is a part of.

The organization is also in partnership with: Human Technical Development Training centre, that has enable the organization to put 11 children (out of school) in skill training; details about them is link to:    https://www.globalgiving.org/dy/v2/pe/progress-report/edit-progress-report.html?project.projId=31562&progressReport.id=137944

Way forward, the organization is trying its best to partner with a number of organizations as part of its campaign to meet its mission and vision lay down on the GlobalGiving project page: http://goto.gg/31562

Transforming the mindset of Community of Aumi to f
Transforming the mindset of Community of Aumi to f

Through counseling and empowering communities’ mindset, Kole Intellectual Forum is helping communities of Angic and Aumi of Angic public primary school and St. Benedictine Nursery and primary school respectively; to work through, their education problems or difficulties that has engulfed the region for decades; by empowering their mind set to embrace value of education through community creative capacity building.

The two communities, with the initiative of Kole Intellectual Forum; in the frequent meetings that is held after every two weeks; they have agreed to start up income generating projects that will be helping them to support the education system of their children.

For instance, with the support of community of Angic, Angic upper and lower cells; they have started up youth empowerment project, in the name of Youth Empowerment Project Angic – I; they have raised some fund, enough to start up youth welding workshop, and registered it with Bala sub-county, Kole district Northern Uganda; meanwhile those of Aumi community have chosen to support women project; they are also in the process of documentation.

Kole Intellectual Forum therefore is confident that, with your support (the donors, advocates, and well wishers; the mindset of these communities to value formal education will soon be transformed.

Quality begins from the tender age: Okwerodot
Quality begins from the tender age: Okwerodot

…because of your support, the visibility of Kole Intellectual Forum has gone from near to far in Kole District within the shortest possible time. The organization today, is able to outreach and advocate for quality and sustainable education in many places; especially, other than where the organization is working from - Angic public primary school – after deriving the data from the district Headquarter, National and local papers, and conducting baseline survey, the organization is moving in the hard to reach places in Kole District, Northern Uganda; that is, in schools, churches, burial places, campaigning for quality and sustainable education where there is need for such.

Because of that: the community that is being approached by Kole Intellectual Forum has started to adopt and maintain healthy behaviors in education; and those that have put their children in Nursery level as a result of the campaign; like in Okwerodot Early Childhood Community Development Center Nursery School, Acankado Young Star Nursery School, St. Benedictine Nursery and Primary School, all in Kole District; do feel that, the rightful organization that can award their children with the certificate of completion of top class in their schools; is none other than a representative from Kole Intellectual Forum; as you can see them from the pictures above and below when a representative of the organization awarding the certificate to the top class candidates.

Thank you GlobalGiving, our supporters, donors, and well wishers; our project page on GlobalGiving website still remains the same in case your feel like supporting us or to tell a friend about our campaign. The link is on: http://goto.gg/31562

The needy bright children without mothers

Can a Child without a Mother be raised up normally in education? Help the NEEDY CHILDREN at Angic public primary school

“Kole Intellectual Forum is inspiring children without mothers to live in their: most confident, purposeful, and authentic life possible in education” (KIFA, 2019).

Among the challenges Kole Intellectual Forum is facing to promote quality and sustainable education in the public post war primary schools in Northern Uganda; specifically, Angic public primary school, is poor performance in Uganda primary leaving Examination and high rate of school drop out.

As a component of its program of outreaching; the organization (Kole Intellectual Forum) identified 5 children without mothers but with their fathers that had drop out of school; but when organization convinced them to go back to school in 2019; they accepted and now all of them are performing very well; in there various classes, they are being ranked among the top best pupils in their different classes as shown by the report card of one of them attached.

Kole Intellectual Forum is therefore saying: thank you very much our supporters and GlobalGiving, you have made it possible for us to build confident in the heart of these children; and we hope you will continue to support this cause of Kole Intellectual Forum on the project page link to GlobaGiving: http://goto.gg/31562

KIFA FC formed
KIFA FC formed

In the process of promoting quality and sustainable education in the post war area of Northern Uganda; after identifying potentiality in football among the young boys, under 17 years, out of school, around community surrounding Angic public primary school, in Kole District northern Uganda in the name of Kole Intellectual Forum Football Club (KIFA FC. The organization is at present embark on building strategies and plans to ensures that the FC strive up to the international scene; and these strategies and plans are, but not limited to the followings:

1. Designing a Free - WordPress - Professional Website; that is expected to be that website that will be, the first stop center for any information seekers, new fans, new players or members of the press; potential sponsors will be able to look at it; and another issue is that: the website will represent our club to the outside world and will probably be the first place people can visit to find out more about our club;

2. Set up our Team Website with an All-in-one Solution We will set up a SportsPress Pro, a plugin that allows us to easily add team and player profiles, league tables, upcoming matches and more to any WordPress site; attract new sponsors by offering them advertising space on our website; customize the size of sponsor logos, sort order, position, and the number of sponsors if they like them to be displayed on the footer or header of our website;

3. Build an Email Newsletter We will also treat an Email Newsletter as a great tool to keep players, fans and volunteers informed about upcoming events, games and everything else that is going on. We believe this as an effective channel to stay in touch with our most loyal fans, send them bonus material, thank you notes, exclusive content and other things that make them feel appreciated. We will also make others to sign up to our email list, this is a huge indicator of trust and interest on our activities and we will treat them with the respect they deserve;

4. Be Present on Social Media Social media is ubiquitous according to Kole Intellectual Forum Football Club (KIFA FC). To them, they emphasize that: today, almost everyone is a member of at least one platform; that is, Facebook; Twitter; YouTube; and FourSquare among others; and through these social media, we are convinced that, there will be a plenty of opportunity to create conversations around our club, promote events and publish news.

on the other hand, Offline Promotion Ideas for Kole Intellectual Forum Football Club (KIFA FC) will also be considered, although, a lot of merit can be dreived from the ideas above. they concluded tht: online promotion is not everything; but, expect tha, Offline promotion can also work to raise awareness of our team and its efforts;

5. Leverage Word of Mouth We assume that: before getting all fancy with social media and websites, why can’t we use one of the oldest means of communication known to man? Given the size of our network of friends, families, acquaintances team, supporters, fans and well wishers; we will access to a large community around us and beyond. And we are sure that people we or others know personally will often be happy to lend their support. Therefore, why not give them a chance? This kind of promotion can also easily go hand in hand with online marketing measures. For example, we can ask our family members to invite their friends to Facebook events.

6. Use Posters and Flyers Yeah, I’m talking about good old paper. Promotion via print media has worked for decades and continues to do so even in our digital age. We will use Free services like Canva; that will make it easy to design professionally-looking posters and flyers even for non-designers. No need to hire someone and spend extra money.

7. Involve Local Media We will get our stories into local radio, newspapers and magazines; all about cultivating relationships. Taking note that; Journalists and editors are constantly looking for new stories and material to fill their slots. If we can help them out with something interesting, they might even be grateful.

8. Give Back to the Community As I mentioned before, a lot of backing will come from your local environment. The people we and others on our team know personally will most often be our first backers. Therefore, why not give a chance to our local community first? What we mean by this is that: by doing good deeds and talking about it them, they will be the first to support our program.
