Angic Community outside Kole District Council Hall
Angic Community outside Kole District Council Hall

After realising the inability for the organization (Kole Intellectual Forum) to do everything needed to start running the proposed program of Home Economics for 20 girls out of schools from Angic Upper and Lower Cells, both in bala Sub-County, Kole District, Northern; from the support the organization is getting from donors and its membership fees; the community from this area, having the organizational representative read to them the estimated budget for the proposed Home Economics program; at Kole District Council Hall on the the 20/03/2020; and he also showed them everything needed to be in place before start off the program; and they were as well informed that, without support from them, they would not be able to meet the cost of all that will be needed

To own the program, the community eronously, together with some of the selected 20 out of schools; accepted to cost share for the program; especially, they accepted to provide their children with food sustenances and other basic needs.

Hence, by the end of the meeting; the community together with Kole Intellectual Forum; agreed to start running the program as soon as the issue about COVID -19 is handled.

Kole intellectual forum has developed a system called “Financial Transparency”, this is to make the organization to openly account for the resources it is receiving from any source to its beneficiaries, the donors, community and to the platform of GlobalGiving that is helping them to raise fund to support their mission. This is organizational attempt to display a desirable characteristic of financial reporting according to its code of ethics and financial policy and procedure to reveal an entity's underlying economy in a way that is readily understandable by those supporting the organization as well as those who are benefitting from the support. This has been line to the Kole Intellectual Forum’s Financial Policy and procedure and the idea the organization borrowed from Barth & Schipper (2008) and a sample of GlobalGiving’s financial management statements (GG Rewards' lession).

On the other hand, to Kole Intellectual Forum, "Financial transparency" means making a clear information to donors and beneficiaries as more accessible as possible; that is, making the organizational performance more “timely, meaningful and reliability disclosed without hiding anything.

This is the second time the organization is disclosing its financial position publicly without fear or favors; especially, the fund it begun to receive from the platform of GlobalGiving from 2018 to July 2019.

Firstly, when the GlobalGiving field traveler came to verify the organizational project site; and secondly, this time, when the organization is declaring the same publicly to the donors, beneficiaries, community and the unique individuals, and organizations or intend be a potential donor to the organization.

With this transparency, financially, we would always remain to serve our beneficiaries using the donations we receive from anywhere or from GlobalGiving platform link to our project page at: http://goto.gg/31562

Although Kole Intellectual Forum is legally registered with Kole District Local Government of Uganda; from 2016, renewable yearly; the organization, because of its effectiveness in the field of action research; supported with the fund from its membership and those that are being raised from the platform of GlobalGiving; the organization has primarily attracted the interest of many, including the communities it serves; Kole District Local Government of Uganda; as well as the beneficiaries.

Because of that: Kole district Local Government of Uganda with the hope of Building up a Meaningful Partnership; has sent its Secretary of Education and Health to verify the work of the organization on the 18/03/2020; and Secretary in his own word before reporting back, he had this to say and documented in the visitors' book that: "GOOD WORK IS BEING DONE PLEASE CONTINUE"

In that regards, as has always been our submission; we would like to re-echo to all our partners and donors that, we would always stand by our code of ethics and act proffessionally to serve our community on GlobalGiving Fundraising platform at Kole Intellectual Forum project page link at: http://goto.gg/31562

Dear Friends,

What an unbelievable consistency have you made to KIFA; in other words Kole Intellectual Forum to elevate from a little unknown organization from a post war area of Northern Uganda to that: organization that can move from the bottom of more than 6,000 organizations that are campaigning on GlobalGiving's platform up to the top of all these organizations. Although partly this has been because of the internal strength of the organization, but, to the greatest exten has been  coupled with the external strengths and opportunities; it has also been because of the donations  made to the organization from individuals, organizations, institutions. This has made the organization to be effective on its 2 project pages link to GlobalGiving platform as it will be mentioned below.

We want to thank the GlobalGlobal for being not only such platform; but a partner that is committed to connect the unknown organizations of the world; as well as connecting them to donors; we are very grateful with your activities GLOBALGIVING; and because of that: for the year 2019 and 2020, we must accept that, you highly previleged and greatly honoured us with 4 awards each year; that is, top ranked, effective, vetted and site visited. We hope to do our best always, so that we can maintain our status. We shall and always be serving our community to the best of our knowledge as you continue to support us at:

Elders advised onto a better future
Elders advised onto a better future

;

In the view of Kole Intellectual Forum, through its main activity of conducting an action research, the organization reveals that: “Research is one way that can enable somebody to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought of...”

In an attempt to investigate the best approach that can enable Boys & Girls of the post war area of Northern Uganda, at Angic village, Kole District, to succeed in life, from within and without the school; the organization, is convening an number of consultation meetings with elders of the same area to establish what everybody else has been seeing and to think what nobody else has ever thought of before in this area.

The leading question was that: why were the Boys & Girls of this area successful in the Pass, and what is wrong NOW?

According to the elders consulted from Angic cell, Kole district, Northern Uganda; by a representative from Kole Intellectual Forum, they had these to say:

  • they described the pass as those days before colonization;
  • they noted that during those days, there were no formal education; but, rather informal ones;
  • in informal educaton, they further explained; there were no classrom, the trainers were elders that had experience in everything they were instructing the young ones to do; and they concluded that: by that time, every learner were sucessful; there was no question of no job, no issue of failing the subject; so long as the learners were phsyically and morally up right.
  • they also observed that, with modernization, a lot has improved; but, suprisingly, there is a lot to be discussed on job problems, issues about children failing to perform; in otherwords they said, today, there is a lot theory lessons than practical that had not been the case before during the informal training.

With these findings established and analyzed by Kole Intellectual Forum in an attempt to see that: research impact every life of every child in the community of Angic village in Kole District Northern Uganda; especially girl child and also boys on the other hand; the organization at present campaigning  vigorously on two project cycles within its main project on GlobalGiving website to promote potential and sustainable education; and the these project cycles are:
