In the remote villages of North-Western Zambia, thousands of vulnerable girls still face barriers to education distance being one of the greatest. The Charity Centre for Children and Youth Development (CCCYD) is working tirelessly to break these barriers by providing scholarships, mentorship, and vocational training across 11 districts of the province. But we have one major challenge: we lack a reliable vehicle to reach the very girls we are trying to support.
The project seeks to address the lack of reliable transportation, which severely limits CCCYD's ability to deliver educational support services to vulnerable girls living in remote and underserved communities across all 11 districts of North-Western Province, Zambia. Currently, the organization is forced to rely on costly hired vehicles or public transport, which is often unreliable, time-consuming, and unsafe especially when traveling long distances over poor road networks.
This project will solve the problem by purchasing a reliable 4x4 motor vehicle that will serve as a critical tool for CCCYD's outreach, assessment, and monitoring activities across North-Western Province. With the vehicle, CCCYD will be able to: Conduct timely vulnerability assessments for girls applying for scholarships, ensuring only the most in-need are supported Monitor and mentor over 60 scholarship recipients regularly, improving academic performance and psychosocial support
The long-term impact of this project goes far beyond acquiring a vehicle-it will strengthen the reach, reliability, and sustainability of CCCYD's education and empowerment programs for years to come.
