New Beginnings has been activiely soliciting funds for 2023. We sent out several emails to over 8,000 people and received a limited amount of funds.
We also revamped our website newbeginningstoday.org.
We created an annual newsletter to our donars reporting what is going on with the children.
This past year there has been a shortage of food, medicine, and clothing. One of our children died of AIDS and was buried in the back yard of our project leader, John Okinge. One of our children was burned by boiling water and was taken to the local hospital. He was turned away for lack of funds. Another child was hospitalized when the roof of his hut fell in during a storm. The mortuary would not release the body, because the hospital bill was not paid, and sued us for $3,000. Our Project Leader was arrested for not paying the medical bills and then released. in court we arranged to pay the bill in instalmendts.
We had a Zoom meeting of our Board of Directors and discussed some fundraising ideas. A lack of resources has prevented us from moving forward.
Our CEO is constantly sending out fund raising letters to potential donars.
We created a new business card to distribute to various organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
We have sent out flyers to local organizations.
