So far is 2024 we have raised $254 from two donars. This is way short of our expectations, but God works in mysterious ways his wonders to behold.
Several of the children have contacted malaria so we how owe the hospital in Rongo quite a lot of money. This is serious as in Kenya you can still go to jail for unpaid medical bills.
Despite everything, the children are happy to have a home with New Beginnings. It is wonderful how grateful they are.
We are going to make up some post cards to mail out and some flyers. Our Project Manager has taken a job in the corn field near his home to supplement the income for the orphans under the care of New Beginnings. His wife is working with the Christian Womens Union to cook and distribute the food. They know that "God helps those who help themselves."
As CEO, I continue to look for grants and send out emails to over 8,000 people at least once a month.
New Beginnings is too short of funds to set up a fund drive but we are asking churches worldwide to sponsor us.
Pastor John did invest in a video which is now on the GlobalGiving website. He interviews the children and it is so gratitying. Some are shy and so are really outgoing. We are praying for all of them to have a bright future.
I want to remind our donors that as reported in our last project report one of our orphans won first prize in a speech contest. It was very gratifying, and we took it as a sign from God that we are doing to right thing to not only feed these children but educate them.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
