WCC Water project

There is a dire need of water supply in Sierra Leone. Many people, especially women and girls have to walk 3 to 4 miles every day just to fetch water needed for their households. In addition to this, the water they collect from the streams is sometimes unhygienic and unsafe for drinking due to upstream contamination leading to numerous water borne diseases. To remedy the issue, WCC aims to construct five water wells in the community adding to the one already donated to counter the poor access to water.

The primary goal of the WCC water project is to provide clean drinking water to the drought-stricken places of Eastern Sierra Leone (Freetown). The WCC water project provides safe drinking water to the poorest communities of Sierra Leone, thus breaking the vicious cycle of poverty, enhancing child health development and strengthening community partnerships. The water project aids in overcoming the water crisis and promotes the overall development of the people of Sierra Leone. Vital education pertaining to HIV/AIDS and other contagious diseases prevention is also imparted through messages that are easier for children to grasp.

The project aims to combat water crisis by providing clean drinking water essential for the survival and development of children. This is vital for building a healthy and sustainable local community. The project seeks to restore Sierra Leone's decimated civil society, starting with East by working with international and local NGO partners to:

1. Offer hope for a brighter future and a sense of purpose for some of Sierra Leone's abandoned children.
2. Transform health and sanitation standards in Sierra Leon by encouraging social mobilization

By donating to this project, you can help Sierra Leone to become a vibrant and self-sufficient community that is less reliant on external aid in the long term. This project also helps the citizens to overcome the post war trauma. The basic health and sanitation training that we offer aids in reducing child mortality rate from easily preventable infections. It also aids in the overall development of children. These goals can become a reality with the help of our donors and volunteers.
