We have just finished wells in Bingwa and Rongo, Kenya. These wells will provide water for a health clinic and primary school and all the community and surrounding villages. We also finished at Kidzumbani at a primary school, Mbeere, and Kisumu near Mombasa. We are very pleased are the rate in which we are drilling wells with our revolutionary Village Drill. Please visit http://villagedrill.com/ for more information on this inspired human powered drill.
The community in Rongo were so desperate for clean water that they were hand digging a borehole. This is such a dangerous feat. Cave ins and loss of life are common with hand digging. The community in Bingwa was using a rain catchment system which worked in the rainy season but not in the dry season. The rain catchment system would collect water from the roof which was often contaminated with bird and animal feces. Now both of these groups have a clean water well thanks to our community of supporters and people like you!
