The project titled “Child Rights and Child Protection in 20 PR Schools” was launched on the GlobalGiving platform with the aim of mobilizing resources to support child rights awareness, child protection mechanisms, and safeguarding initiatives in twenty primary schools. Since the campaign was published, efforts have been made to promote the project through available communication channels and engage potential donors interested in supporting children’s welfare and protection. While the project has received positive visibility and interest from some supporters, the amount of funds raised to date remains significantly below the target required for project implementation. The current fundraising status indicates that only a small portion of the required budget has been secured, limiting the organization's ability to initiate planned activities and achieve the intended outcomes within the proposed timeframe. Continuous fundraising and donor engagement efforts are therefore necessary to increase financial support and attract additional contributions through the GlobalGiving platform.
Despite the commitment of the project team to promote the campaign, several challenges have affected fundraising performance. Competition for donor attention on the GlobalGiving platform, economic constraints affecting individual and institutional donors, and limited outreach resources have contributed to slower-than-expected fundraising progress. As a result, the funds currently available are not sufficient to cover the essential start-up costs required to implement project activities across all 20 targeted schools. Key interventions such as training of teachers and school committees, awareness sessions for pupils and parents, development of child protection materials, and establishment of reporting and referral mechanisms have not yet commenced as originally planned. The gap between the funds raised and the total project budget remains substantial, making it difficult to launch the project in a manner that would ensure quality implementation and meaningful impact for the intended beneficiaries. Consequently, project implementation has been delayed pending the mobilization of additional financial resources.
Looking ahead, the organization remains committed to achieving the project’s objectives and strengthening fundraising efforts through the GlobalGiving platform and other complementary resource mobilization strategies. Planned actions include increasing online campaign visibility, enhancing donor communication, sharing compelling stories and updates, engaging local and international partners, and expanding outreach through social media and community networks. These efforts are expected to improve donor engagement and encourage new contributions toward the project. Although fundraising results to date have not been satisfactory and are insufficient to commence full project implementation, the project continues to hold significant relevance in addressing child rights and child protection challenges within the target schools. The organization remains optimistic that with strengthened promotional efforts and broader stakeholder support, sufficient funding will be secured to enable the successful launch and implementation of the project, thereby contributing to a safer and more supportive learning environment for children in the 20 participating primary schools.
