We are pleased to provide an update on the implementation of the Child Rights and Child Protection in 20 Primary Schools Project. We extend our sincere appreciation to all donors and supporters who have contributed through the GlobalGiving platform. Your commitment to improving the well-being, safety, and development of children continues to encourage our efforts toward creating child-friendly learning environments where every child can learn, grow, and thrive without fear of abuse, neglect, or discrimination.
Since the launch of the project, fundraising has continued, although at a slower pace than initially anticipated. The original project design envisioned a comprehensive implementation process covering 20 primary schools through awareness campaigns, child protection trainings, establishment and strengthening of child protection clubs, capacity building for teachers and school management committees, and community engagement activities. However, due to the limited level of funds raised so far, the organization has been unable to implement the project at the scale and pace that was originally planned.
Despite these challenges, our commitment to promoting and protecting children's rights remains strong. The need for child protection interventions within schools and communities continues to be significant. Many children still face various risks, including violence, neglect, exploitation, and limited awareness of their rights. Through this project, we aim to empower children, parents, teachers, and community leaders with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify, prevent, and respond to child protection concerns while fostering a culture that respects and upholds children's rights.
Although full-scale implementation has been delayed, the organization has continued laying the groundwork for future activities. We have maintained communication with target schools and community stakeholders, ensuring that interest and participation remain high. Discussions with school leaders, local government authorities, and community representatives have highlighted the continued relevance of the project and the urgent need for child protection interventions. These engagements have allowed us to sustain momentum and prepare for effective implementation once sufficient funding becomes available.
Recognizing the importance of addressing child protection issues without unnecessary delays, the organization has also started mobilizing limited internal resources to support selected preparatory activities. While these resources are not enough to cover all planned interventions across the 20 schools, they have enabled us to undertake basic awareness initiatives, planning meetings, stakeholder consultations, and coordination efforts. These preliminary actions demonstrate the organization's dedication to advancing children's rights even in the face of financial constraints.
We remain optimistic about the future of the project. Every contribution received through GlobalGiving brings us closer to reaching our fundraising target and implementing the planned activities. The support received thus far has strengthened our resolve and provided encouragement to continue mobilizing resources from additional partners, supporters, and local stakeholders. We believe that through collective effort, it will be possible to establish stronger child protection systems in schools and communities, contributing to safer learning environments and better outcomes for children.
The project has not been abandoned; rather, implementation timelines have been adjusted to reflect the current funding realities. The organization continues to actively seek complementary funding opportunities while maintaining readiness to implement activities as resources become available. Our team remains committed to ensuring that all planned interventions are delivered effectively and sustainably, maximizing the impact on the lives of vulnerable children.
Looking ahead, our priority is to continue fundraising, strengthen partnerships, and prepare for the gradual rollout of activities in the target schools. Once adequate resources are secured, we will proceed with child rights awareness campaigns, teacher and community trainings, establishment of child protection structures, and other planned interventions aimed at safeguarding children and promoting their well-being.
On behalf of the organization, the participating schools, and the children who stand to benefit from this initiative, we sincerely thank all donors and supporters for their patience, trust, and continued encouragement. Your contributions are helping to build a foundation for safer schools and stronger child protection systems. Together, we can ensure that every child enjoys their rights, learns in a safe environment, and has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Thank you for being part of this important journey and for supporting the protection and empowerment of children in our communities.
