Green Phenix is a Curacao based social enterprise that is catalyzing a circular inclusive economy to safeguard oceans. In collaboration with the Ministry of Social an Labor affairs Green Phenix offers a work & learn program for 24 people that were previously unemployed. Together we are working to create a recycling makerspace to ensure no materials go to waste, people are empowered to reach their full potential and global environmental issues of plastic pollution and CO2 emmissions are adressed
The way we use plastic is causing huge global problems. We aim to prevent the prediction that "in 2050 there will be more plastic in the sea than fish". We believe a circular economy, where waste simply does not exist is the solution.
We start in the beautiful island of Curacao. We'll use an holistic approach and we will prove the concept for Curacao and from there we will scale to the Caribbean. We work with extrusion, injection, filament extrusion and 3D printing.
This project is the start of a necessary system shift that we need in the world. The most talented and passionate people will be involved, paving the way for others to start local recycling initiatives and the circular economy is boosted. Plastic free oceans is the ultimate goal!
