Water, clean air, and food should be undeniable human rights. The reality is drastically different: 21 people die of hunger every day; 783 million don't have access to clean water; 5,5 million die from polluted air every year.
Solutions to global problem are out there. Around the world, courageous people develop projects that secure water, clean air and food for communities in need. Ending hunger, securing water for all, and ending pollution, can be achieved by replicating and scaling these projects. WAFA works to identify, certify and celebrate such sustainable projects in the WAFA Awards Event, to give them visibility to achieve greater impact. Sustainable water, air and food security projects gain global visibility, which attracts support and funding for continuing and expanding their work. Visibility of these local projects inspires replication: the solutions can be shared with people who face similar problems in other parts of the world. The outcome is more people will have access to water, clean air and food.
