I would like to express my gratitude for those who supported our initiative in realizing the project "Vocational education for 500 women in villages".
During the third reporting period we could give opportunity to help to get additional professional education to 40 girls and women in B.Gafurov district. We conducted courses on Cooking and Sewing. The courses lasted 3 months each. November, December, 2020 and January 2021. The 40 participants learned how to cook 30 types of different national meal including pies, dumplings, plov, cakes, cookies and etc. In the Sewing courses girls and women learned how to design and sew National and European style dresses. At the end of the courses 40 participants received Diplomas. They graduated short term courses and mastered their professional skills on Cooking and Sewing. 5 of graduates applied for government grants to open their own small business. Hope they will be funded.

During the second period, we conducted 5 courses for 100 women.
Women were from B. Gafurov town and Guliston town, Isfisor, Chorrukh-darron villages. (Sugd region). Each group covered 20 women. Two groups on Cooking course and three groups on Sewing and Knitting courses. Each group conducted the lessons for two months. All the courses started on July 25, 2020 and finished September 25, 2020. We conducted sessions three times a week and each lesson lasted for three hours, every group had 72 hours of instruction.

3) Sewing course in Chorukh-darron – started on July 25, 2020 (20 women)

Please describe how the goals of the program were met: Project “Vocational Education for 500 women in villages” in Bobojon Gafurov district has started on April 1, 2020. In order to reach the goal of the project we created daily activity plan and conducted all events according that plan. The main goal of the project is educating girls and women on sewing, cooking, computer skills, driving skills and electric skills.
Please provide statistical data, number of events, number of participants, geographical coverage: Event 1 - 2 focus group meetings with 40 people in Isfisor and Chorukh-darron villages. Event 2 - 2 trainings for 20 active women and young girls of various ages on women`s rights, family psychology, the solution of a conflict situation and prevention of home violence. Event 3 - started conducting Sewing courses, Cooking courses and Computer courses for 30 women.
Please describe the kind of events organized; the issues discussed; the number of publications; the new contacts made: During reporting period, we conducted 2 focus group meetings in Isfisor and Chorukh-darron villages. There was a discussion of project agenda, women and government cooperation plan in partnership for successful implementation of the project goals and objectives. We carried out 2 trainings for 20 active women and young girls of various ages on women`s rights, family psychology, the solution of a conflict situation and prevention of home violence. During the training women were trained communication skills, to work with victims of violence in their communities, skills of leadership, voluntarily to help their community to be safe in the future. In April we started conducting Sewing courses, Cooking courses and Computer courses for 30 women.
Immediate output results: Please describe the impact the grant has had on your organization and the participants in the program activities, including evidence of change of attitude or knowledge, and public reaction: During the project implementation 30 women started Sewing, Cooking and Computer courses, 20 women got information on women`s rights, family psychology, the solution of a conflict situation and prevention of home violence. The project helps to continue the activities that the organization is dedicated to. The project is the realization of organization’s main goal and priorities in education of local citizens and creating opportunities for them for positive change. In addition, the project helps to make positive impact in the local community and open future perspectives for the organization.
Long-term impact/performance: Please describe the likely future impact of the program and what new plans or projects were conceived: In 12 more months we plan to educate 470 more women and girls in target villages. Sewing, Cooking and Computer, Driving and Electrician courses will be taught for 470 women.
Any problems encountered and how they were solved: Yes, there were problems with COVID -19 and we had to stop the lessons till July 1, 2020.
Public Organization "Gurdofarid" is working for community development and safety. Right now we are working on informing all the people in Khistevarz village about COVID-19 and the ways of prevention.
We received $974.17 from GlobalGiving Foundation on April 23, 2020.
According the COVID -19 prevention project we visited 12 schools and 2 kindergardens to teach students and Kids how to wash hands correctly, how to keep themselves away from infectious disease, prevention methodology, hygiene, and the symptomes of COVID. The doctor consulted children, when the corona virus is suspended, where to go and what to do.
All in all we visited 11 schools, 1 boarding school, 2 kindergardens, and 4 Education Centers and cover 17000 people. Access students from PO Gurdofarid prepared Forum Theatre scene where they show the problem and infectious cases and the audience solves the problem. There’s a discussion after the scene is shown. This helps to engage people to participate in the process of solving the situation.
We also distributed to these schhols:
3000 pieces of facial masks,
100 bottles of anticeptic,
100 bottles of liquid antibacterial soap,
100 boxes of napkins,
50 kg of chlorine,
100 pairs of gloves,
50 pieses of safety posters.
