Hello,

I have been trying to submit our report via the link sent but the feedback I get is Page Not Found.

I am therefore submitting our report via this channel.

As we draw the curtains over the year 2021, The Ark Foundation (The Ark) looks back at its campaign, started in February 2021, to raise funds to acquire a van for the operation of its Shelter for abused women and children in Ghana. The Ark Shelter, since its establishment, is the only operational shelter for abused women and their children as well as sexually assaulted young girls in the country.

The organization is in dire need of a vehicle to facilitate the safe movement of clients to and from the shelter when the need arises without jeopardizing their security. The vehicle will ensure survivors are conveyed to the hospital, police, and courts and for emergency purposes such as rescuing survivors or medical emergencies particularly at night. As at December, 2021, the set target of $20 000 to acquire the vehicle and cover other operational cost such as fuel, maintenance, salary for a driver, fumigation, insurance, among others, has not been met. So far, an amount of $225 has been raised which will cover the insurance costs for a year. We are appreciative of all who have donated so far towards the campaign.

As we prepare to cross over to 2022, The Ark continues to count on your benevolence to be able to respond effectively and efficiently to survivors of gender-based violence in Ghana. The van will ensure more survivors are moved to the shelter and help observe the COVID-19 protocols without putting their lives at risk. It will also reduce the operational cost of the organization by discontinuing to resort to hiring vehicles to transport clients to and from the shelter, particularly, at night. We wish all our donors and potential donors a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!
